My Thieme Dream- The transformation of The Cat Lady

Once upon a time I started my blog called "The Cat Lady". I did this because I believed once upon a time I would be single for a long time (aka forever) and I was writing about my life and opinions. Maybe one day I will continue to write there, but this new blog will be about my family, the love of my life, and this new and amazing life I have built.

For those of you who didn't read The Cat Lady- let me introduce myself.

This is me:


September 2nd, 2017 I officially gave up the title of The Cat Lady and became a wife. By and far the best decision I have ever made.


Here is the cute boy that finally got me to settle down (but never settle for less than everything I could have ever wanted): 
(Excuse my French, but HOT DAMN right?) 

Hayden Alexander Thieme swiped right on my tinder profile (yes, not a joke), took me on an extremely awkward first date, then the rest is history! (I will write a love story post one day, promise!) I couldn't have asked for a better husband and life partner, he is everything and more. 

After getting married (basically right after) we decided we were ready for a baby, because waiting anytime at all would result in us waiting way too long. We both felt the pull of some tiny human on the other side who had been waiting for us to find each other so he could finally come to earth (I literally dreamed about my baby boy multiple times) About a month after we were married, we decided we would start trying for baby number one, expecting it to take a little while. However, it happened right away and before we knew it, I was pregnant! We like to joke about how little man is a "Honeymoon baby" because our honeymoon wasn't until a month after we were married and the dates line up pretty well.

Labor happened and now we have our sweet baby James William Thieme in our home and permanently in our hearts. He makes every day a little more work, but a lot more wonderful.

So, that is where we are at. Our little family of three. And now you know how The Cat Lady has transformed into a a real life wife and mom (Crazy, right?) 

Like I said, I will try and write a few things on The Cat Lady from time to time- but this blog will contain lighter topics about my family and all of our musings. So feel free to follow both! Or don't, that's okay too (because lets be honest this is really for me to have something productive to do with my time).

Sweet Baby James- Pregnancy & Birth Story

My last bump pic the day I went into labor at 40 weeks and 4 days!  When Hayden and I got married we had originally decided on waiting about a year before trying to have a baby. But after starting our married life together, we both felt strongly that our baby was waiting for us and ready to come sooner than we thought. We went over our plans for the next year and realized that getting pregnant right away would make for a summer baby, which gave me time to recover before work started back up and time for Hayden to work, before school started again. So we decided to stop the birth control pills and just see what happened. I tracked everything on an app like the calculated nerd I am, just in case we ran into problems, but just one cycle later I took a test and BOOM we were in business.
